Homer G. Adams
Terran Financial Genius

Personal Data:

Homer Gershwin Adams showed up shortly after the founding of the Third Power by Perry Rhodan and established the General Cosmic Company to generate finances for Rhodan's nascent nation. The connection, hidden beneath a labyrinth of false fronts and dummy connections, concealed an important development: the G.C.C. had become one of Rhodan's major "eyes" onto the outside world. While Rhodan dealt with the nations of the world militarily, Adams used the G.C.C. to infiltrate the other nations surreptitiously, weaving the Third Power into the economic web that connects all nations. Prior to establishing the G.C.C. for Rhodan, Adams had spent twenty years in prison for taking part in numerous illegal financial transactions. As a financial criminal he never worked for his own gain but, rather, for the thrill of pulling off the transaction. His time in prison convinced him that he should remain on the correct side of the law in the future and it was this change, confirmed by Rhodan's telepaths, that allowed him to join the Third Power.

Although his financial genius should have been enough to qualify him for the Mutant Corps, it was his photographic memory that is listed as the official reason. In 1980, on Wanderer, he was granted a Cell Shower, which stopped his aging processes. Adams was the paramount financial genius on Earth during the late 20th century, and he eventually became the Finance and Commerce Secretary of the Solar Alliance. Under his brilliant planning, the Alliance's economy developed to a galaxy-wide level, easily rivalling the successes of the greatest Springer patriarch. In spite of his successes, Adams has remained a timid and reserved man.

Adams received a Cell Activator in 2326 AD and, along with it, relative immortality. After the time of the Aphils on the Terra, Adams's consciousness was taken into the group mind of It in 3581 AD. After a time he returned to physical reality in the same body as his partner, Suzanne Weyter (part of a new humanity in which two or more minds occupied a single body). As a speaker of the Cosmic House and financial authority, Adams actively contributed to the planning of the Cosmic League. He soon progressed to the level of chief financial officer and, finally, general manager, becoming the most powerful man in the organization.

As such, he granted the ambassador of Estartu (another super-intelligence similar to It), with whom he had previously had secret contacts, the freedom to disseminate the doctrine of the "Third Way" (that is, the way 'between' the Cosmocrats and the Chaotarchs). While working with Estartu, Adams did things that were at best of questionable legality but he did so convinced that he was doing what was best for humanity (not unlike what he had to do when setting up the General Cosmic Company).

Under the domination of Monos, Adams lost his seat on the Cosmic League's board of directors. He became the R.A.M. leader known only as "Romulus". In 1169 NGE he was asked, by It, to surrender his Cell Activator. He, like the other Cell Activator recipients, was given a final Cell Shower to allow them to "put their affairs in order". Four years later, when It was cured of the outside influence that had caused It to demand the Cell Activators back, It gave him an improved version of the Cell Activator known as a Cell Activator Chip.

During the first mission into the Great Void, he chose participate so that he could devote time to putting the affairs of the Cosmic House right. In 1207 NGE he undertook a secret mission to Mystery, the home world of the Ennox. There he uncovered the secrets of Ennox and divulged them to the galaxy.

Coming aboard the Base for its second mission into the Great Void, he made a short side-trip with Perry Rhodan and Moira to the Sol-system and remained there to confront the danger of the Hamamesch. Unfortunately, he himself became an Imprint-addict and was removed as a House leader by Geo Sheremdoc. Along with Harold Nyman and Esker Harror, he became one of the leaders of the so-called Imprint-Outlaws who searched for the wonderful wares of the Hamamesch at Hirdobaan. After the return of the Galactics of Hirdobaan he found himself unable to resume his postion as a House leader. Instead he chose to take control financial matters for Perry Rhodan and Project: Camelot and established the trade organization Taxit. With the christening of the Gilgamesh Adams expressed his long-term loyalty to the Cosmic League. He named his auxilliary module the Rostock.

Atlan
Time's Lonely One

Personal Data

Background

Atlan is an Arkonide born around 9000 BC. Because he became one of the first known "human" possessors of a Cell Activator (given to him by It) he is relatively immortal. The Activator was supplied by Carfesh by order of the Cosmocrats. Like all Arkonides, Atlan has an extra brain sector which gives him a photographic memory. As it was activated, in his youth, by the Ark Summia his "extra brain" is capable of semi-independent thought and provides an amazingly perceptive though almost entirely logical mental companion. Atlan has been alive for so long that he has become somewhat world-weary and cynical. Though naturally self-confident and controlled, his millenia of experience have honed his ability to handle pressure calmly and deliberately to almost inhuman levels. He can drive himself and his companions very hard yet retains a sense of humor.

~9000 BC:
A
s a youth Atlan, the true successor to the slain Imperator Gonozal VII, had to prove himself in the fight against the usurper, Orbanashol. His adoptive mentor and friend was Fratulon, a former gladiator, spy, court physician, and loyal friend of his father. After his "extra brain" was activated by the Ark Summia he became an Admiral in the Arkon Navy. During his time as Admiral he fought against the Maahks near the end of the Great Methane War, helped established an Arkonide colony on Terra (named Atlantis after him), and defended the Sol System against the Druufs. During the defense against the Druufs, Atlan was given a Cell Activator by It as well as the plans for a Converter cannon (which helped end the war against the Maahks but the plans of which mysteriously disappeared after the war). Unfortunately, his defense against the Druufs was not entirely successful. Although much of Terra was spared enslavement by the Druufs the Atlantis colony was not. Its people "disappeared" and the Atlantean continent submerged beneath the Atlantic Ocean after a series of subterranian explosions. Atlan found himself one of the few Arkonide survivors and trapped on Terra with no way of contacting Arkonide forces to rescue him. Living among Terrans for the next 9000 years, Atlan repeated attempted to steer civilization to the point of developing space flight (or, at least, hyperspatial communications).

9000 BC - 2040 AD
D
uring this period Atlan periodically "slept" in deep hibernation within the confines of his sub-aquatic automated refuge, Rico, waiting for history to unfold. Each time he would awaken from a sleep period he would travel to the surface again and observe humanity's progress, occasionally intervening with it in an attempt to accelerate humanity's development. Although he was not always aware of it, many of his actions were directed by It. Over the millennia Atlan became the friend and consultant of many legendary figures such as Leonardo da Vinci, Columbus, and Kublai Khan. In 1971 he was a scientist working to help develop the nuclear engines that powered man's first spaceship to the Moon and back. When Perry Rhodan established the Third Power and the world appeared to be about to enter WWIII, Atlan returned to Rico to sleep through the coming nuclear war.

2040 AD
A
fter awakening from his latest sleep period Atlan found that Rhodan's actions had not plunged Terra into a nuclear war as he had feared (at least not a "hot" one as the bombs that were launched did not explode due to a special nuclear dampening field provided by the Arkonides). Instead, he discovered that Rhodan had transformed Terra into the heart of a small but vibrant stellar alliance, an alliance that Atlan quickly realized was a dangerous threat to the Arkon Empire. He attempted to flee from Terra to Arkon but was stopped by the vigilance of Solar Alliance Intelligence and the keen intellect and warm heart of Perry Rhodan himself. After some initial difficulties he began a friendship and partnership with Rhodan that would last for millennia.

2044 AD
J
oining in Rhodan's conflict with the Robot Regent of Arkon, Atlan eventually realized that the only way to help his people would be to fulfill his ancient destiny and become the Imperator of the Arkon Empire. Fortunately, the Robot Regent had been programmed for this eventuality and, after confirming Atlan's non-degenerate status and identity (the Regent retained records of many of the royal family members of history), released much (but not all) of its control of the Empire to Atlan. 11,000 years after his birth he was finally acknowledged as Imperator Gonozal VIII.

2115 AD - 3459 AD
I
n this year Atlan resigned as Imperator of the Arkon Empire and took over the directorship of the newly-created United Stars Organization (U.S.O.) as Lord Admiral. In the following period he continued to work with Rhodan to unify the galaxy despite ongoing disagreements over such topics as the defense of the galaxy against the Masters of the Island and the Uleb as well as the role of humanity in galactic affairs.

3460 AD - 3581 AD
A
fter the disappearence of Terra from the Sol System and the subsequent dissolution of the Solar Alliance, Atlan founded the New Einsteinian Alliance (N.E.A.) and became its first president.

3582 AD
A
fter continued conflicts with Rhodan, Atlan departed the galaxy in the generation spaceship Sol to look for the missing Terra.

3588 AD
A
tlan, as Ambassador of the Base, attempted to visit the Cosmocrats beyond the Matter Wells and disappeared entirely from our universe. Years later he returned to tell of being trapped in the Nameless Zone (an other-dimensional region between our universe and the dimension of the Matter Wells). There he was forced to find a fierce battle against the banished Anti-It.

(Because Atlan was gone for 200 years he had no way of knowing that the races of the Milky Way Galaxy had adopted a new dating system (New Galactic Calendar). As a result, he continued to date his records by the old Terran system until his return to our universe)

3791 AD
A
tlan returned from his visit to the Cosmocrats without any memory of what happened on the other side of the Matter Wells. He was discovered by a group of Buhrlos, travelling through space, and brought aboard the Sol. There he discovered that the Sol had been captured and its people subjected to a tyrannical reign for some 200 years. Although stripped of most of his memories he still led the battle for freedom. Atlan develops mentally and physically, leading him to fundamental insights into the nature of the cosmos. This, in turn, led to the search for Varnhagher-Ghynnst and the creation of the Peace Cells.

3811 AD
A
tlan reached the Krandhor System and began a two hundred year long role as Oracle of Krandhor.

4021 AD
A
tlan finally regained his long-suppressed memories. He surrendered his role as Oracle of Krandhor and returned to the Milky Way Galaxy aboard the Sol.

426 NGE
A
tlan, as commander of the Sol, rejoined the Galactic fleet and its assault on the Endless Armada. In the galaxy M-82 he became the leader of the Armada-barbarians. After his return to the Milky Way he proceeded with Jen Salik to the intergalactic depths in order to prepare for the imminent return of Triicle-9. As a result, Atlan was given the title Knight of the Deep. He gave up this title after fulfilling his duties. However, this action angered the Cosmocrats and he, along with Rhodan and Salik, was punished by them with banishment from local group of galaxies.

447 NGE
A
fter Atlan, as a member of the Walkers of the Net, defeated the Warrior Cult in Estartu's sphere of influence the ban of the Cosmocrats was lifted. Atlan spends 695 years in a stasis field together with the Tarkan-fleet and fights Monos after this.

1147 NGE
W
ith the end of Monos, Atlan once again became a popular figure to his people. So popular did he become that he was often referred to, unofficially, as "Imperator" and "Crystal Prince".

1169 NGE
A
tlan surrenders his Cell Activator to It but, unlike Rhodan, argues with the Linguids. After the liberation of It from external control he receives a Cell Activator Chip. In the following years Atlan built up the Society of Arkonide Scholars for Innovation and Research (S.A.F.I.F.) which, in many ways, was the Arkonide equivalent to the long-gone U.S.O. The leader of its internal Anti-Terrorist unit was Yart Fulgen. At this time he also became romantically involved with Lady Theta of Ariga although political disagreements ultimately drive them apart.

1200 NGE
W
hen the first Dead Zone surrounded the Sol System, Atlan organized the rescue mission. He, himself, experienced the second Dead Zone on Arkon. While within the Dead Zone around Arkon he discovered a Spindle which Paunaro later discovered was a duplicate.

1206 NGE
O
nce more travelling across the Great Void, Atlan conducted a mission to Canaxu in which he joined up with Paunaro and Colounshaba.

1222 - 1288 NGE
T
he galaxy split into three main power blocs: the new Crystal Empire (Arkonides), the League of Free Terrans (L.F.T.), and the Raglund Forum (many non-human races, Akonides, and Antis). Atlan, uneasy with the political situation, founded the I.P.R.A.S.S.A. (a resistance organization against nationistic forces). Simultaneously, he also collaborated with Project: Camelot being run by the Cell Activator immortals. As a result he become persona non grata in the Crystal Empire (again). It is rumoured that he had a hand in the assassination of the Imperatrix Lady Theta of Ariga.

Reginald Bell
Rhodan's Second-in-Command and Oldest Friend

Personal Data:

Background:

Bell was one of the three crew-members of the Stardust, the first manned Terran ship to travel to the Moon and back. Despite his casual manner he was an exceptional electrical engineer. He is Rhodan's oldest and closest friend and, although an excellent commander in his own right, has, for millenia, contented himself to being Rhodan's second in command. His often bellicose manner and physical strength have gotten him the nickname the "Bull" though only his friends use it to his face.

1971 - 1975 AD
O
ne of the first Terrans to land on the Moon, he was also present for first contact with the crew of an Arkonide spaceship which had landed there (under the command of Lady Thora and High Scientist Khrest). Returning to Terra with several examples of Arkonide technology, he soon became Rhodan's second-in-command within the Third Power. His early titles were Security Minister and Chief of the Space Fleet.

1976 AD
A
fter a lengthy and dangerous adventure to finish Khrest's mission to discover Wanderer, the Planet of Eternal Life, Bell was one of the first Terrans to submit to It's life-prolonging Cell Showers which halted his aging process for 62 years.

2115 - 2326 AD
A
s the leader of the new Explorer Fleet and Vice Administrator of the Solar Alliance he took an active part in all the important enterprises of humanity. In 2326 he received a Cell Activator and became relatively immortal.

2400 - 2406 AD
D
uring Rhodan's odyssey on the Transmitter Path to the Andromeda Galaxy, Bell became the acting First Administrator of the Solar Alliance. He organized a search and rescue for Rhodan and the others lost on the Transmitter Path, and led the defense on Kahalo against the Maahks, who had, once again, invaded the Milky Way. In the course of the counter-attack on Andromeda he resumed his subordinate role and concerned himself primarily with planning defenses against the actions of the Masters of the Island in the Milky Way.

2436 AD
B
ell, as Vice Administrator, once again defended the Solar Alliance against a threat from intergalactic space. While Rhodan was in the M87 Galaxy, on board the Khrest IV, Bell was successful in expelling the Oscillation Guards from the Sol System and conquering the Old Man. In the following centuries he worked continuously to strengthen the galactic alliance of races and led the alliance's special forces.

3437 - 3438 AD
D
uring this time Bell planned and led the defense against Cappin invasion attempts of the Milky Way, after Perry Rhodan cracked open Gruelfin, and against the Great Mother when she threatened the Sol System. He proved himself effective as Galactic Administrator for the third time.

3441 - 3443 AD
D
uring the galactic threat of the Swarm, Bell personally led many of the important reconnaissance and strike missions against the small, mobile galaxy.

3457 - 3458 AD
D
uring Rhodan's Brain-Odyssey Bell was forced, for the fourth time, to take up the mantle of First Administrator of the Milky Way.

3540 - 3580 AD
B
ell became the head of Terra's government when it was taken over by the Aphils. Not even the powers of his Cell Activator could not protect him from the malignant radiation of the star Medallion. It was only through his special robot, Breslauer, that Bell was freed from the spell of Aphilia (the effect which turns normal people into Aphils). Breslauer was able fix the problem with his Cell Activator, bringing Bell to his senses. No longer an Aphil, Bell was dismissed from his role as head of Terra. Bell immediately joined the Good Neighbor Organization (G.N.O.) and began providing relief to the Aphilia-immunes. Finally, he flew to Ovaron's planet to await the Sol.

3582 - 3587 AD
T
he Sol appeared and took on board the last free people from the Maelstrom of Stars. With the Sol he joined Rhodan and the Base in a search in search of the Pan-Thau-Ra, the Cosmic Castles, and the Matter Wells, a search that spanned several galaxies.

3588 AD/1 NGE - 428 NGE
H
e worked on the planning and implementation of the Cosmic House. As the House began its work Bell became a speaker of the House and an observer at the GAVOK Forum. When the Galactic Fleet departed for the Frost Ruby in 426 NGE he remained on Terra, becoming a board member of the Cosmic House with full rights and privileges, including the right to address the Board.

429 NGE
B
ell flew with the conglomerate virus-ship Explorer to Estartu's sphere of influence and went through several dangerous adventures there. Although he was a valuable staff member he did not become a Walker of the Net. Upon returning from the Tarkan Universe he was caught up in the stasis field for 695 years along with Rhodan and Atlan.

1147 NGE
A
t Rhodan's side, Bell began the fight against the Cantaro, a cruel and tyrannical race that seized control of the Milky Way Galaxy during their involuntary exile from their home galaxy. After eliminating this tyrannical government he began the reconstruction of the Cosmic League.

1169 - 1205 NGE
W
hen It recalled all the Cell Activators, Bell and the other bearers flew to Wanderer to surrender them. A few years later, after It was freed from the external powers that were influencing It, Bell also received a more advanced device, the Cell Activator Chip. Later, as the leader of an Explorer team he found relics of the Arcoanic culture became an admirer of it. In 1201 NGE he traveled to the Sheokor System, as the leader of the Dragon Fleet, and resurrected Arcoana.

1206 - 1218 NGE
W
hile travelling in the Great Void Bell discovered the complex Quidor-Game, from which he and the crew of the Kahalo were able to escape only with steel-calm nerves. Back on the Base he found an order to go with Michael Rhodan on an expedition to Tornister, the World Without Shadows. There he found the remnants of a gigantic, two million year old mollusk ship. He then fought alongside Rhodan and the Ayindi against the Abruse in Arresum.

Ribald Corello
the Super Mutant

Personal Data

Background

Corello was a super mutant possessing five psionic abilities: suggestion, individual force field, emotion projection, quintadimtransfer (shielding with psionic energy as well as creation of psionic objects), and matter transmission. Corello was born to the Terran mutant Kitai Ishibashi and the Baalol priest Gevoreny Tatstun on a planet of the Antis in 2909 AD.

His body is badly malproportioned with its torso and limbs shaped like those of a two-year child, while his skull is gigantic (up to 51cm (about 20 inches) in diameter). His body is 1.29 meters long (about 4 feet). His skull is completely hairless and reddish-brown in color. Across his smooth skin is a network of thick bluish veins. His face occupies only a small portion of the head, about palm sized, with infant-like mouth, nose and ears. Corello's eyes, 8 cm (almost 3 inches) in diameter, are a light irridescent green and sit beneath a broad, protruding forehead. Corello's highly developed and differentiated nervous system allows him to control his otherwise weak and child-like body.

The super mutant's clothing consists of an arrangement of gold-colored respiration-activating pieces of hosing similar to that used in space travelers' boots. The special material of this arrangement (IPEV-Psicolon) functions as an impulse antenna and amplifier for the reception and the transmission of higher-order dimensional mental and cellular impulses, strengthening them by a factor of 9.7. In the rear portion of the clothing is an internal/external head support because Corello's neck muscles are too weak to support his giant skull without help. The external head support allows Corello to stand upright and even walk a short distance. On the back of the special suit, there is a flat backpack with a micro-generator. His cell-activator hangs from his chest, held by two special heavy-duty clamps over his belly button. Before her death Corello's cell-activator belonged to his mother.

During the time of his battle against humanity, Ribald Corello moved about in a special vehicle. As he relied on it to move about a special transport robot was built to act as an individual transport under his command. It was constructed as a conical vehicle about two meters high and about a meter across at the base. A skull cap, about 60 cm in diameter, partially covers his head and serves as additional support for his giant skull. Within the conical body of the vehicle is a small sealable chamber in which Corello rests. It is padded and maintains an internal temperature of 37 degrees Centigrade. The transport robot is controlled by Corello's mental emissions, including control of the two manipulatory arms and the two heavy weapons arms (equipped with thermo-beamer, disintegrator, transformer cannon, and force field generator). The transport robot is capable of moving across land (using a deflector field), through the air (using a pulsation drive), and in space (using an impulse drive).

Corello's psychological make-up is streaked with numerous disfunctionalities. Most prominant of these is a powerful Oedipus Complex. Corello is dogmatic, selfish, bossy, quick to anger, and cruel yet can be a witty conversationalist and even confidante if it serves his purposes. His scientific specialties are cosmo-psychology and hyper-physics. The super mutant carries the Baalol title of Tapur (the "mighty one" or the "exalted one").

All these characteristics affected him until the end of the year 3433 AD, at which time Corello was freed from the hypno-blocks (both embryonic and perinatal) which had been planted in his mind by powerful criminal alliance of Aras and Antis. It was through these manipulations that Corello became an embittered enemy of humanity and a powerful weapon in the hands of those who opposed humanity. After the hypno-blocks were broken and Corello was freed to make his own choices about his life he was absolved of his earlier crimes by a court of law (he was judged not guilty by reason of incompetence). He chose not to join the U.S.O.'s Mutant Corps, but eventually joined the New Mutant Corps.

As a result of a devastating disease he lost his emotion projection and quintadimtransfer abilities and his remaining three psionic abilities were no longer as strong as they once were. Nevertheless, Corello became one of Perry Rhodan's most valuable specialists.

In 3587 AD, he was absorbed into It. His cell-activator was kept in protective custody, for a time, before being given to Jen Salik.

Lemy Danger
USO-specialist from Siga

Personal Data

Background

Danger was a Terran colonist from the planet Siga and a U.S.O. (United Stars Organization) Specialist. Because of a mysterious effect in Siga's environment Danger was only 22 centimeters tall and weighed only 30 ounces. His skin color, like that of all Sigans, was a light green with ebony hair. He was extremely agile and quite proud of his family name. Like all Sigans he had heightened hearing and vision. With Danger's small size and mass he was able to make use of a variety of small animal disguises (such as birds, rodents, or reptiles) most of which were supplied to him through the U.S.O.'s technical division and whose micro-cybernetics were crafted by some of the top micro-technicians in the known galaxy.

Because of the great length of Sigan lifespans, Danger was able to take his time with his studies and finally became a U.S.O. Specialist at the tender age of 92. He was married, at this time, to a fellow Sigan, Mitra, and had become the father of a son, Bosil.

He began his career as a Major and eventually rose to the rank of General. His Specialist partner through much of his career was the huge Ertrusan Melbar Kasom. Almost every agent has, during his career, done things (accidently or deliberately) that he regretted deeply. Danger's was the accidental destruction of Anne Sloane's Cell Activator during a mission. Although this was a tragic event, the loss was lessened by the fact that Anne Sloane was already dead at the time her activator was destroyted.

Dao-Lin-H'ay
the Former "Voice of Ardustaar"

Personal Data

Background

Dao-lin-h'ay was a member of one of the great families of the Kartanins. She was responsible for the Paratu Evacuation from Formax. In July 430 NGE she was called by the Voice of Ardustaar to become the commander of a new long-range space fleet. The fleet was equipped to travel the forty million light years to the galaxies of Estartu (a superintelligence similar to It). Dao-lin-ha'y set out on an Umbali (a new class of Kartanin space ship). Aboard it she found land on the planet Hubei on which to establish the first Kartanin colony in Estartu's space. She opened up several other planets for colonization and initiated Project: Lao-Sinh. Eventually, she was called back to the Triangulum to replace an Initiate who had been sentenced to death. (*Note: Triangulum = Pinwheel = M33 [called Ardustaar by the Kartanin themselves] and is the galaxy, within the local group of galaxies, that the Kartanin live in)

After the end of the Initiates Dao-lin-ha'y was trapped in a stasis field for 695 years because of the great cosmic catastrophe. Emerging from the stasis field she became the Galactic Advisor of Hangay and representative of all the former Kansahariyya-people scattered throughout the galaxies. She eventually developed a strong relationship with Ronald Tekener (who was an advisor to the Kartanin).

In 1173 NGE she received a Cell Activator Chip from It. She remained behind during the first expedition into the Great Void in order to devote her efforts to reconciling the various family groups of the Kartanins. She did, however, participate in the second expedition. In Hirdobaan she and the operations unit under her command almost succeeded in capturing a Mashtar prisoner. On the residence-world of the Perm-Sector the Maschtar Kaiddan dies in a battle against the operation command.

Ernst Ellert
Teletemporter and Messenger of It

Personal Data

Background

Born in the 1940's, he became one of the founding members of the Third Power and the Mutant Corps. His mutant ability was to "see" into the myriad possible futures and "feel" which had the greatest probabilities. Although he could not project his body into the future he could, at times, project his mind. His ability was termed teletemportation.

Life, as we would normally define it, was not long for Ellert. Shortly after joining the Mutant Corps he was forced to sacrifice his life to prevent a terrible nuclear explosion induced by the Mind Snatchers. This was not, however, the end for him. In the moment that he died his mind left his body and hurled across the probabilities of time leaving his body in a strange state of suspended animation. While para-poling he travelled "from the beginning of time to its end" and visited many spots in-between. Often he would co-occupy the body of some inhabitant of whatever time/space and dimension that he found himself in. Completely lost, he spent so long trying to return to his body that he gradually forgot who he was. While occupying bodies, however, he attempted to learn all that he could about his latest locale while helping his "host" improve its life and society.

In 2043 AD, while occupying the body of the Druuf scientist, Onot, he helped to lessen the impact of the Druuf's invasion of Einsteinian space (due to the time differences between the two dimensions he was actually present during both known invasion periods as Onot although in Einsteinian space 10,000 years had passed). Mental contact with Rhodan during the second invasion restored some of his memory and showed him the way "home" to his own body. Once home he was able to spend a few decades in his own body though his previous trauma had required that one of his arms be replaced by a cybernetic one.

Although Ellert retained his para-poling abilities the spatio-temporal proximity to his body seems to have added an additional stress to it, causing his body to decompose at times of stress. Eventually, his mind was absorbed into the biopositronic brain of a Posbi ship, causing his body to decay so rapidly that it had to be deep-frozen to preserve what little life was left in it. Once again para-poling through space and time Ellert periodically encountered humanity over the centuries as it spread across the galaxy.

In 3583 AD It provided Ellert with a body which he had to share with Gorsty Ashdon (part of It's plan to produce a new poly-mental humanity). Together, he and Ashdon had to accomplish a number of tasks that It set for them (all without Ellert's mutant abilities). However, even this fling with corporeality was not to last long. In 3587 AD It gathered into itself the minds and abilites of most of the Mutant Corps (including Ellert) in order to increase It's psionic power base.

In 426 NGE It released Ellert to help Terra against the threat of Vishna. In this incarnation Ellert shared a body with Merg Coolafe. Later, after defending Terra against the Seven Plagues and a stay on Eden II, Ellert's mind and body were rejoined. Already in a state of advanced decay, Ellert stressed his body even further in the next few months getting the Virotronic Network Intrusion and the Storm Horsemen to rise up against Vishna. Finally, 2,100 years old, Ellert was dying. However, after Vishna was purified through Taurec the Cosmocrats created a synthetic virus body for Ellert.

1.8 meters (six feet) tall, slim, hairless and glowing blue with an internal light, Ellert's new virotronic body had the ability to change from crystal hard to organically soft to mist-like. In his new body Ellert became known as "Metamorph".

In December 428 NGE Ellert left Terra, in the first virotronic spaceship formed from the substance of the Virus Empire, to prepare Eden II for conversion to a Chronofossil. No one suspected that he was the first Terran to become a Vironaut. Never lucky with bodies, Ellert eventually lost this body as well.

His next host body was that of a soulless Barkonide. In this body Ellert forfeited his psionic powers completely. In his new body he was then sent after the "Time-Tables" of Amringhar. When that mission was accomplished he was, once again, absorbed into It but then released, as the Messenger of It, to distribute the Cell Activator Chips. Also, as the Messenger of It Ellert provides the critical information on turning off Abruse with the help of the Nocturnes. Furthermore, he shuts off the "commander" of the Base, the now-insane Hamiller-Tube.

Foremon
Watcher of the "Mushroom" Arches of Galorn

Personal Data

Background

Foremon is 1.6 meters tall and humanoid yet weighs only 15 kg. It is extremely fragile, almost crystalline. Its "skin" is white and, in places (especially the breast and back), it is covered by a mother-of-pearl coloured exoskeleton. Its limbs are inflexible. From a distance the watcher bears a striking resemblence to a human skeleton. Its skull-like face only reinforces that image. Its mouth is narrow and lipless and it has no nose. It has no noticable musculature.

It is a photosynthetic being, absorbing sunlight through its enormous "ears" and minerals from the ground through its feet. Although it is capable of operating in the dark it can do this only until its limited energy reserves are exhausted. If this happens it must wait until it can absorb more solar energy before it can move again.

Foremon is highly intelligent and knows no boredom. It can, and often does, sit and observe the basalt plains of Galorn for years at a time.

Foremon is the solitary watcher of the basalt plains of Galorn. It knows nothing of any other beings on this world or even of its own kind. It has the ability to morph the special kind of basalt of this world. It was discovered by Perry Rhodan and Reginald Bell when they used the Bridge to Infinity and landed within the "mushroom" dome of Galorn. It held them responsible for the murder of the fourth messenger of Thoregon and became their enemy.

Presto Go
Kummerog's High Advisor

Personal Data

Background

Go's eyes are narrow and very close together. Her nose is also very small.

She is Kummerog's highest advisor. Her clothing, corresponding to her rank, is a yellow robe which, on its backside, is embellished with a blue oval. This oval is the symbol of a prayer field. She is calculating, decisive, and frequently more aggressive than others of her race. Her power is extensive and she allows no one to question her decisions. However, no one is forced to follow her commands for, among the Herreach, there are no enforcers. Her influence is based solely on voluntary submission. So the violet-clad admonishers, that the Cleros organize, and the white-clad Clerea, the common priests, subordinate themselves to their High Advisor.

By the collapse of the Time-Gathering Field Go was seventy-six years old.

Ivan Ivanovich Goratschin

Personal Data

Background

Goratschin joined the Mutant Corps in 1981 AD after several years in the hypnotic thrall of the Mutant Master. He was born in 1950 severely mutated from Soviet above-ground nuclear testing. He possessed two independently intelligent heads on a gigantic (2.5 meter tall) body. His skin was light green and scaley. More important than his physical mutations, however, was his primary psionic ability: the ability to initiate nuclear reactions using carbon or calcium. His abilities required line of sight but no critical mass. The greater the mass that he initiated, the greater the explosion was.

The two heads maintained individual personalities. The right one was born 3.5 seconds ahead of the left and constantly maintained that he was the "older" brother and, therefore, should be in charge of the body. This attitude led to frequent (and sometimes violent) arguments between the two otherwise very peaceful personalities. Because of his deformities (and, quite probably, the Mutant Master's mental manipulations) Goratschin had a severe inferiority complex and was subject to frequent bouts of depression. He was grateful for any affection shown to him.

As a member of the Mutant Corps he began receiving Cell Showers in 1982 AD and a Cell Activator in 2326 AD. Goratschin was killed in battle against an agent of Ribald Corello in 3432 AD. His Cell Activator was kept out of Corello's hands and was given to Roi Danton (Michael Rhodan) in 3434 AD.

It
the Immortal Unknown

Personal Data:

Background:

It is a Super-Intelligence whose sphere of influence includes Terra, the Milky Way Galaxy, and many of the neighboring galaxies. It refers to itself simply as "It" and consists of the collective consciousness of an ancient race. The best available information is that It was created (or evolved) around fourteen million years ago.

The first official encounter of Terrans with It occured at the end of the quest to solve the Galactic Riddle in 1976. At that time the Super-Intelligence showed its bizarre sense of humor and gave Rhodan 20,000 years to prove humanity's worth. After that Rhodan and Bell became the first humans to be given Cell Showers to halt their aging. Since then It allowed others to be given Cell Showers.

At the same time a series of mysterious prophecies began and, over the centuries It sometimes acted inexplicably. These strange acts included the denials of Cell Showers, flight from a danger of which it would not speak (later discovered to be the intelligence-destroying Swarm), and the dispersal of twenty five Cell Activators throughout the galaxy in 2326 AD.

Over the next 1,500 years humanity began the slow evolution into a cosmically mature race and began to understand the nature of It as one of the many Super-Intelligences in the universe. Humanity also learned that It had watched over their development from the beginning with the intent of developing agents within its inter-galactic domain. In 3581 AD It saved twenty billion Terrans from great danger by absorbing them into its consciousness. Six years later It absorbed the Mutants Corps. It wasn't until a year later that Rhodan learned that It had planned this action some time ago as part of its struggle against the negative Super-Intelligence Seth-Apophis.

Having released the population of Terra (but not the mutants) and revealed part of humanity's destiny to them It withdrew from direct galactic affairs again to apply all its resources to resisting the efforts of Seth-Apophis. During humanity's struggle against the renegade Cosmocrat, Vishna, It was able to spare only Ernst Ellert to support humanity. It was pressed to the edge of extinction in its battle against Seth-Apophis, especially when, in 427 NGE, the negative Super-Intelligence exposed It to energies deadly to It.

It underwent a further evolutionary development in 428 NGE when the last, and most important, Chronofossil was activated after a fierce battle by Rhodan and It against the Master of the Elements. It finally united with the billions of Terran consciousnesses contained within it. Following this It withdrew within itself to develop a new identity.

The next time that humanity hears of It was in 1169 NGE when the Super-Intelligence, through Homunk, demanded the return of the Cell Activators. The 20,000 year deadline had been changed and Its new favored race was the Linguids. A frantic search for It was undertaken and humanity resolved the fatal problem. In 1173 NGE It granted fourteen Cell Activator Chips to humanity and released Ellert again from the collective consciousness. He then led the search for the Mirror Born Vandemaar twins to give them the final two Cell Activator Chips.

In 1218 NGE Its latest plan for humanity was unveiled. After Rhodan and his companion succeed in shutting off the Abruse, It created three life-island in Arresum with the help of the Nocturnals. He then populated these life-islands with the twenty billion Terrans that it had absorbed into itself centuries earlier. This time, only the mutants are retained by It to strengthen its mental power. These humans are supported by Aachthor/Voltago and his spore-ship at the "upswing" of the Arresum.

Its sphere of influence is not a precisely definable area. The boundaries are flexible. So far as Rhodan has been able to determine the area is, roughly, a sphere of space-time some 2.5 million LY in diameter. This area contains the Milky Way, Andromeda, M33, and Hangay (which was transfered from the Tarkan Universe in 447 NGE) galaxies, the Fornax, Leo I, Leo II, NGC 6822, NGC 147, NGC 185, IC 1613, M32, and NGC 205 mini-galaxies, and the Greater Magellanic, Lesser Magellanic, Draco, Ursa Minor, and Sculptor star clusters. In 3587 AD It established the artificial world, Eden II, at the "center" of its domain as a headquarters and, centuries later, created for itself the artificial world, Wanderer II (an almost exact duplicate of the original Wanderer), presumably to travel in. Eden II no longer exists.

Tako Kakuta

Personal Data:

Background:

Kakuta was a mutant with teleportational abilities as a result of his parents' exposure to the radiation from the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima. He was recruited into the Third Power in 1971 AD and, later, became a permanent member of the Mutant Corps. In 1976 AD he began receiving Cell Showers and received a Cell Activator in 2326 AD. He died in 2909 AD during the Second Genesis Crisis, existing as a bodiless "Old Mutant." In 3587 AD the Old Mutants were absorbed into It.

Myles Kantor
Terran Chief Scientist

Personal Data:

Background:

Kantor is the son of Enza Mansoor and Notkus Kantor. He has his father's face with a waxy paleness and strands of hair forever falling in front of his eyes. His arms are too short for body. He is self-confident and highly intelligent but highly sensitive to the opinions of others. When possible he prefers to simply stand back and observe, allowing others do the talking. When he is nervous he moves with sluggish steps, in a state of intense concentration, not unlike a sleep-walker. He tires easily when not concentrating on a problem and needs considerable amounts of sleep.

In 1167 NGE the Synergistic Duo became the Synergistic Trio with Kantor. After the death of his father, Kantor strove to work through his grief by work and research. In 1171 NGE he suffered from a stroke which severely crippled him and required him to make use of a robotic transport device. He received a Cell Activator in 1173 NGE which restored much of his physical health. He married Kallia Nedrum.

When he returned, on the Base, with the rest of the Cell Activator carriers to the Milky Way Galaxy he not only discovered his wife in a coma but learned that his mother had died while he was out of the galaxy.

Cistolo Khan
Commisioner of the L.F.T.

Personal Data:

Background:

Khan was a large but not heavy-set man with the strong, imposing appearence of a Euro-Terran from the Iberian Penninsula. He wore his long, wavy hair down past his shoulders. His heavy facial hair resulted in a nearly constant five-o'clock shadow that complemented the slighlty cynical set of his lips and his dark brown eyes. His hands were strong but not rough.

Off-duty, his clothing was generally a leisure suit that reminds one of the ancient Judo gi and was held together in front by a wide leather belt. His boots were made of a heavy but flexible plastic material. In the single pocket of the suit, on his left breast, he carried a selection of styluses and a roll of writing foil for making notes.

A man of great charisma, Khan was appointed as Commissioner of the League of Free Terrans by the First Terran Eri Paola Daschmagen in 1280 NGE. Khan came to the post after a highly successful stint as the commander of an L.F.T. base planet. Among his most important colleagues were Gia de Moleon, leader of the Terran League Service (T.L.S.) and his friend and confidante Bruno Drenderbaum.

His ship is the flagship of the L.F.T. fleet, the Papermoon.

Tro Khon
Time Police

Personal Data:

Background:

This Time Policeman awoke in 2435 AD to clear his ship, a Dolan, to punish the Terrans for their "time-crimes" with it, after Perlians, Generals and Crystal-agents failed in this attempt. He was able to take over the Old Man alone. Then, other Oscillation Guards (=Time Policemen) appeared and they engaged the Terran's force in a gigantic space battle. The battle was decided when the FpF-device was created. It was able to penetrate the Paratron-shields of the Dolans and finally only Tro Khon was able to flee alone into the arsenal in hyper-space. He was pursued by Don Redhorse. The station was destroyed by a commando-unit of the Haluters.

Like all Oscillation Guards Tro Khon is related to the Haluters and carried a Symboflex-Partner on his back, which prevents him from revolting against the First Oscillation Power.

Kummerog
the Assassin from Bröhnder

Personal Data:

Background:

Kummerog stands about 1.55 meters tall and is about one meter across at the shoulders. His skin is cracked, his lipless mouth holds six light yellow incisors, and his nose has three nostrils. One of his hands is missing but the other is the size of a shovel blade with two thumbs and two fingers. His leg joints are reversed from a human, resembling the arrangement of a dog or cat forced to stand on its hind legs.

He is a mutant, ( the mutant of the Cantrell), with the ability to control the shedding of his skin in contrast to the other, "normal" Cantrells who have to do this every five months. However, that was not the end of it. His shed skins were not dead like those of terrestrial animals. They lived and could attach themselves to others, psionically dominating their hosts and bringing them under Kummerog's control. Among those that he brought under his control was Alaska Saedelaere.

Kummerog belonged to an organization known as the Assassins of Bröhnder which he founded when he was cast out by his own people. These assassins operated from the asteroid Klinker.

On a flight through Bröhnder Kummerog came across the fourth messenger of Thoregon. The messenger asked him to fly to the Arsenal of the Baolin-Nda and deliver a message there but Kummerog was interested only in treasure and looted the Arsenal. A short time later he arrived at the Bridge to Infinity and Trokan.

Leticron
First Hetran of the Milky Way Galaxy

Personal Data:

Background:

Letricron was unlike most Mounders. Rather than the loud crude laughing of his race he carried himself with considerable refinement, not unlike a Sigan. He was elegant in everything he did and totally ruthless. He thought nothing of achieving his goals over the bodies of others. He kept his long hair bound in a single knot with a metallic net. This nearly invisible network was more than ornamental. Letricron had impregnated it with Howalgonium crystals.

As if he weren't dangerous enough, Letricron also had three psionic abilities. Trade Sense, which allowed him to sense how to negotiate with another person that he had, previously met. The ability worked over a distance of four to five LY. Para-Charisma (also called Super Confidence Injector), which allowed him to instill a feeling in others that he was an admirable person. Mental Offense, which allowed him to redirect the thinking of others to completely different tracks. For example, if someone were trying to shoot him the shooter would suddenly begin thinking of something else, anything other than shooting Letricron.

In 3459 AD Letricron seized power on Paricza and took the title Corun of Paricza. He built up a strike force of more than 8,000 heavy and super-heavy battle ships. On July 3, 3459 AD he was appointed as the First Hetran of the Milky Way Galaxy by the invading Laren. The ensuing reign of terror lasted 121 years. In 3580 AD he was killed by Maylpancer, who succeeded him, in a duel. Though mentally confused near the end of his life his consciousness was able to flee into a PEW-element-prepared crystal on Titan (a moon of Saturn) where it was finally trapped forever.

Fellmer Lloyd
Director of the New Mutants Corps

Personal Data:

Background:

Lloyd was one of the founding members of the Mutants Corps. He was a telepath and detector (capable of detecting and identifying brain wave patterns). In 1976 AD he was given a Cell Shower which stopped his aging. In 2326 AD he became a Cell Activator bearer. In 3440 AD Lloyd was selected as the director of the New Mutants Corps and, during the formation period of the Cosmic League, he was one of Rhodan's most trusted associates.

Lloyd died, along with Ras Tschubai, in 1169 NGE on the planet Compol due to a malfunction of their Cell Activators when they could not heed the call of It and return the Cell Activators to it.

Merceile
Scientist of the Cappins

Personal Data:

Background:

Merceile was a scientist of the Takerer with a specialty in Bio-Transfer Adjustment. She was 32 when she first came into contact with the Terrans in 3434 AD. A beautiful woman by Terran standards, she wore her hair hip-length and clipped behind her ear. Her personality had two sides: one was jocular and outgoing the other was shy and reserved. She had a highly developed sense of justice and a high intelligence. Like many of her people (the Cappins) she possessed the ability to Pedo-Transfer.

She first met Rhodan and Atlan on their trip 200,000 years into the past with the help of the Null-Time Deformer. At the time she was working for the Bioprogram of the Takerer. She turned against it, however, when she realized that it was being misused by the criminals.. With her break from the Bioprogram she became Ovaron's most trusted associate and travelled with him when Rhodan and Atlan brought him to their present (3434 AD). In the "present" she undertook numerous missions for Ovaron and Rhodan and her help was often the key to success. In the past she was undecided in her affection for the Ganjasan Ovaran and the Cappin Levtron. In the "present" she was undecided in her affection for Ovaron and Atlan. However, she eventually met Rhodan's son Roi Danton and fell in love with him.

When she was seriously injured during an assault on Titan (Saturn's moon) she was shipped to Tahun for medical treatment. At the beginning of the conflict there she maintained the connection to the Gruelfin-galaxy NGE 4594 as Dakkar-radio-operator in Ovaron's secret base. . When she was seriously injured during the assault on Titan (moon of Saturn) at the end of Leticron's reign she was shipped to Tahun for medical treatment. Here, on the medical world of the U.S.O. she was healed. Afterwards, she remained, for the most part, on Tahun providing scientific aid whenever possible and waiting for the time when Rhodan would need her again.

In 3443 AD Merceile returned to Gruelfin. (* Gruelfin is another name for NGC 4594).

Merkosh
Glass with the "Evil Voice"

Personal Data:

Background:

Merkosh was a mutant from the planet Opronos (Aheiku System, Maasbar Galaxy). Like other members of his race he stood about two meters tall and was extremely thin. His arms and legs were long, thin, and hexa-jointed. His toes were webbed. His skeleton was so flexible that he could literally tie his limbs in knots if he wanted to. The skull was approximately spherical with a maximum diameter of about 35 cm. His eyes, about 6 cm across, were dark green, lidless, and positioned at about the same position as a human. The ears were simply openings on the sides of his head and could be closed by means of skin flaps. He had no nose. His mouth, on the other hand, was quite prominent. His lips were highly developed and trunk-like, able to extend some 20 cm from his skull. Unlike the rest of his face, which was fairly unexpressive, his trunk was very expressive of his emotional state. Like humans, he used his mouth for both eating and breathing and he could use his trunk as a kind of built-in megaphone.

Perhaps the most noticable feature of the Opronosians was their transparent skin and semi-transparent bones. Their organs were readily visible through the fine mesh of blood vessels in their skin and even the brain could be vaguely seen with a strong light on the other side of them. This strange feature earned them the nickname "Glassy Ones".

Merkosh's main psionic ability was Frequency Transformation which Merkosh called the "Evil Voice," because it also caused him to emit a high-frequency sound from his trunk. This ability allowed him to radiate fifth-dimensional energies which could destroy nearly any object they struck by transfering molecular fragments of the object into the fifth-dimension and scattering them throughout the universe in the same way as an Interval-beamer (* A weapon appearing first in the M87-cycle [#300-399], used by the Time Police !).

Merkosh also possessed Dream Meditation, an ability that allowed him to send his consciousness through time. He lost this ability while on a time trip into the past during which he encountered Roi Danton, who was believed to be dead. He was captured by Ovaron's Time Runner with its sixth-dimensional field and was irradiated after a thorough examination of Titan (Saturn's moon).

He became of member of the Mutants Corps in 3440 AD and was absorbed into It in 3587 AD.

Nathan
The Great Brain on Luna

Personal Data:

Background:

The first hyperinpotronic computer on Luna was brought on-line in 2130 AD. At that time it already exceeded the Robot Regent of Arkon in capabilities and capacity. Nathan was not, however, intended to rule humanity but to control the incredibly complicated processes involved in Lunar ship production, Sol System space traffic, basic Solar Alliance administration, and weather monitoring and modification on three planets (Venus, Terra, and Mars). As an example of how important Nathan has become to the Sol System consider that, when the Aphilie took control of Nathan control of Terra was nearly immediate.

When, in 3584 AD, It returned to Terra three billion Terrans that It had absorbed earlier, Nathan was reactivated and put to the task of accomodating the returnees and preparing Terra and Luna for their return to the Milky Way Galaxy. From this incident it became apparent that It had some control (or, at least, strong influence) on Nathan's programming and had used that influence to direct Nathan's capabilities towards the welfare of humanity.

At the beginning of the 5th Century NGE Nathan was overhauled and extensively upgraded with syntronic circuitry. These upgrades were finished shortly before Monos began his reign in the galaxy in 490 NGE and shut Nathan down, replacing its functions with the Communications Center on Titan. In 1147 NGE, with the end of Monos' brutal reign, Nathan was reactivated.

In 1212 NGE Nathan was, once again, shut down for a short time by the Spindle Beings. Damage to Nathan and the Sol System was minimized by Moira's activities.

Nathan played a significant role in the Trokan crisis, monitoring and reporting on the events occuring on Trokan to the best of its ability.

Although such high-ranking people as Rhodan, Bell, and Atlan have unrestricted access to Nathan's databank and other resources, fundamental changes to Nathan's programming can only be authorized by a majority of the Cosmic League's Speakers and/or the Cell Activator bearers.

Kallia Nedrun
Myles Kantor's Life Companion

Personal Data:

Background:

Little is known for certain about Nedrun's heritage but it does seem to be Terran. She was an excellent mathematician and could be an excellent motivator. She could push Myles Kantor's team to achieve great things, especially during the time that he was recovering from having lost his legs.

She is tempermental and easily excited. Sometimes, when she is asleep or under considerable stress she speaks in a strange language. So far, analysis of the language has not identified it. In addition, it is interesting to note that she did not seem to age although she was not a Cell Activator bearer.

Later, in 1212 NGE the second attempt to produce a Spindle Being went awry and Nedrun was injured. Although the scientists first thought they had a "clean", Terran genetic pool to create a Spindle being, they realised that Nedrun, or better her genetic code, caused the problem. . Further investigation revealed that it was Nedrun's own genetic code that was causing the problem. Genetic specialists discovered, in her chromosomes, a strange gene-code. code (* There were some zinc-"fingers" on her DNA) . The gene's function could not be decoded but the geneticists believed that it contained a genetic program that could be started anytime or perhaps was already started !

Since the accident with the Spindle Being, Nedrun has lain in a coma on Mimas. After the return of the Base from Hirdobaan Myles Kantor tried again and again to awaken Nedrun but she did not respond.

Nostradamus
(Cyno Imago II)

Personal Data:

Background:

Nostradamus (or Michel de Notre Dame) was the beloved physician of the French King Karl IX and a famous astrologer. Although a small man his full, dark beard, lively, compelling eyes, and deep, resonant voice gave him a presence felt in any court. Normally he wore a skull cap, a Spanish coat with frilly sleeves, knee-length breeches, buckle shoes, and an ornamental sword.

In 3443 AD he was discovered in an energy vault near Terra's South Pole. He was Imago II, the brother of the Cynos Schmitt. (* Note: The Cynos were the former and legitimate leaders of the Swarm. As they were "thrown out" one million years ago, they built a "secret empire" in the Milky Way to await the return of the Swarm. Cynos could take on any shape.)

Ovaron
Ganjo of the Ganjasian Empire

Personal Data:

Background:

In 3434 AD Ovaron was a well-built man of about 40 Terran years and usually wore his hair long and pulled back. He was a man of extraordinary intelligence and strong will. His intellect has been honed by logic, scientific reasoning, sense of duty, and sense of justice.

As a member of one of the foremost families of the Ganjan Empire he was trained from childhood to fulfill his duties as a Ganjo. He was an excellent Pedo-Transferer and possessed two Tryzomes. He first encountered Terrans some 200,000 years ago. Ovaron was trying to personally investigate Takerer's activities on Terra while, at the same time, Rhodan, with the help of the Zero-Time Deformer, had travelled into the past to prevent or deflect Project: Proconis.

When their mutual missions were completed Ovaron travelled to Rhodan's present (Ovaron's future). There, in 3438 AD they worked together to accomplish their separate goals in the Gruelfin Galaxy. Rhodan's goal was to prevent Takerer's Pedo-Invasion of the Milky Way Galaxy. Ovaron's goal was to reestablish the Ganjan Empire which had been destroyed in his now past.

Ovaron was a Cell Activator bearer. The device, formerly the Emperor Dabrifa's (at that point dead), was given to him, personally, by Pucky in return for services rendered to humanity.

Ovaron died in the Gruelfin Galaxy in 3580 AD as a result of an Activator malfunction. Yet, like Ernst Ellert, he was not entirely dead. While his body was preserved in a nutritive solution his consciousness travelled away, even from this space-time continuum. After a time lost in strange continua he finally came into contact with a Walker of the Net named Tornybred. Through it Ovaron learned that the survival of his consciousness had resulted in an interaction between the malfunctioning Cell Activator and his Pedo-Transfer abilities. With Ovaron's help Tornybred was able to travel to a new continuum, then Ovaron returned to the Gruelfin Galaxy. Once there he passed on Tornybred's warnings about Estartu to the Cappins. Together, they were able to prepare defenses against the Eternal Warriors and, at the same time, bring an end to the perverted Ganjo Cult that had arisen during his absence.

Ovaron's last Pedo-Contact with a Cappin occured in 3969 AD. At that time he warned, once more, of an attack by the Eternal Warriors. That accomplished, he left this time-space continuum to continue to work with Tornybred. Those Cappins capable of Pedo-Contact with Ovaron were known as Gruelfin Interpreters.

Background:

When Perry Rhodan landed the Stardust II on the planet Tramp in 1975 AD, during his search for the Planet of Eternal Life, a young (and far too psionically talented) Ilt (Mousebeaver) stowed aboard the ship. This young alien (a powerful telekinetic, telepath, and teleporter) was soon brought into the Mutant Corps and, over the course of time, developed strong friendships with some of the most powerful people in the galaxy including Rhodan and Bell (who is often the butt of Pucky's humor).

Pucky has three beloved hobbies: carrots, scratching sessions (particularly behind the ears), and epic story-telling. The carrots can come from almost any source but he particularly loves those that he has grown himself. The scratching sessions he will accept from almost anyone and has been known to pull in favors to get them. The epic stories are almost always about the adventures of the "Savior of the Universe", a brave and resourceful Mousebeaver (himself) whose actions save the lives of his human (and other) friends and the universe. The stories would probably not be quite so popular if they weren't, substantially, true with his own role only somewhat enhanced to the detriment of the others involved.

After marrying Iltu (a fellow Ilt) he became the proud father of Jumpy, a particularly psionically-gifted boy.

Because Mousebeavers normally live from 500 to 600 years he would not accept a Cell Activator in 2326 AD. In 2437 AD he underwent a bio-physical hyper-regeneration on the planet Monol which reduced his physical age by about 500 years. In 2931 AD he finally accepted a Cell Activator which he surrendered to It in 1169 NGE. Finally, in 1173 NGE he was implanted with a Cell Activator Chip.

He was last heard of when he joined Alaska Saedelaere on his search for the Mirror Born Vandemaar twins.

Perry Rhodan

Personal Data:

Background:

Rhodan is the founder of the Third Power, First Administrator of the Solar Alliance for several centuries, leader of the Cosmic House, and Knight of the Deep. Perry Rhodan adapts extremely quickly to new situations, and so is sometimes referred to as the "turnaround wizard." He possesses an unusually healthy measure of self-criticism, as well as a strong logical reasoning ability and a dry, courageous sense of humor. Moreover, in the course of his life he has always had a powerful sense of cosmic connections. Perry Rhodan therefore serves as a prototype in the cosmic order as an intelligent person of the new age. The scientific specialties of this space pilot (in 1971 AD) were Nuclear Physics and Celestial Mechanics, with a subspecialty in Atomic Jet Engineering.

Dalaimoc Rorvic

Personal Data:

Background:

A half-Cyno Tibetan of unknown age, Rorvic was tall, fat, bald, and albino. He was an extremely phlegmatic philosopher with a deep, endlessly boring voice. For a time his chief employment was sitting in the lotus-position and staring inscrutably at a far-away point with half-closed eyes. While his critics claimed that he was simply lazy he maintained that it was a state of deep meditation.

He developed a peculiar friendship with Tatcher A Hainu and was, with Hainu, a member of the so-called Psychoteam. His specialty was Hyper-Frequency Engineering Technology.

Rorvic's ability was awakened, suddenly, by a psionic attack in April, 3442 AD. He was a Psi-Reflector, capable of reflecting psionic energy back at its projector, and a Step-Tracer, capable of tracing psionic events back to their origin points by working backwards through their sequential consequences.

Rorvic was absorbed into It in 3587 AD.

Alaska Saedelaere
Cappin Tracker and Former Mask Bearer

Personal Data:

Background:

In 3228 AD Saedelare used a transporter station between the planets Bontong and Peruwall. The trip should have been, essentially, instantaneous. It took over four hours. During his time in hyperspace he merged with another being, a Cappin. From this point on he was forced to wear a plastic mask because the sight of his merged form could cause insanity to the viewer. Saedelaere, himself, described his face as "full of color and strange movements that should not exist". The fragment of the Cappin merged caused him to be sensitive to hyper-energy processes, reacting to them, proportionately to their intensity, by radiating simple light to explosive force. This earned him the unofficial title of Cappin Tracker. With this ability he became a founding member and leader of the New Mutants Corps.

In 3531 AD, at the age of 131, he was given the long-unused Cell Activator of Betty Toufry.

In 3582 AD he became a founding member of the Terra-Patrol. His life, despite a number of sympathetic friends, was a lonely one. He tried, frequently, to discover ways to free himself of the Cappin Fragment that was becoming more and more a part of him. In 426 NGE, when the Base passed through the Frost Ruby, he gained some ground on the fragment. For the first time in centuries he was able to go about without a mask. Unfortunately, it was not a complete recovery. The skin of the face was wax-like, bloodless, and unexpressive with a crooked misplaced nose. His eyes, at least, were alive and expressive. His new appearance earned him a new unofficial title: Pallidin.

He remained shy of others after this change partly because of the intimidating effect of his new appearence and partly because of his ability to occasionally detect the emotions of others as they trickle into his awareness like electric currents.

The intelligence of the Cappin Fragment that merged with him was not pleased by the change in his body. Separated from his face, it began to manifest in his body, often causing waves of incredible pain. Eventually, not just because of the pain it was causing him, Saedelaere began to look for a way to return to his previous state. He had slowly realized that the Cappin Fragment on his face was an independent intelligence and an unusual and desirable (though not beloved) companion.

Saedelaere was weary (near to death) of his condition when, in May 427 NGE, the Base encountered Unit One of the Endless Armada on its approach to Loolandre. At the high point of this conflict Saedelaere again came into mental contact with Kytoma. He was able to calm the raging Cappin Fragment and explained that he had, since their last meeting, found his own people, the Querions, and achieved a spiritual life with them. He offered to help Saedelaere by using his race's pedo-contact ability to bring him into direct contact with the Cappin Fragment and allow them to negotiate a new state of existence.

Kytoma was a Walker of the Net and entered into a symbiotic state with the Cappin Fragment (which called itself Testare) in the Net. Because Saedelaere was corporeal he could not carry Testare there himself. Testare solved this problem by providing himself a corporeal body by mental projection. The separation proved unpleasent, almost unbearable for both Saedelare and Testare. In the end, however, they were separated and Saedelaere found himself as he had been before the transmitter accident without even his Palladin appearence. Although free, normal, and out of pain Saedelaere remained serious and introverted.

After It's recall of the Cell Activators (October 1169 NGE) Saedelaere dedicated himself to the search for the Time Tablet of Amringhar that he had heard of from the Nocturnals but did not find it. When the It affair was resolved in 1169 NGE he was implanted with a Cell Activator Chip.

In 1199 NGE he embarked with Pucky to find the Mirror Born for whom It had reserved the last two Cell Activator Chips. After finding them the group was sent into the Great Void to find the Sampler-Planet Sloughar and rescue the Spindle Beings there. Since that expedition Saedelaere has developed a special relationship with the Vandemar Twins.

Hotrenor-Taak
Herald of the Hetos of the Seven

Personal Data:

Background:

As High Commander of the Laren invasion fleet into the Milky Way Galaxy Hotrenor-Taak is a typical example of his people and of a Herald of the Hetos of the Seven. He was answerable only to the Hyptons as representatives of the Hetos of the Seven. As an opponent to Rhodan's plans for the Milky Way Hotrenor-Taak projected the image of the "good uncle", jovial, approachable. He was a careful planner and inexorable when the situation required.

With the support of the Mounders Hotrenor-Taak ruled the Milky Way for 120 years and, through his machinations, forced Rhodan to take up the role of First Hetran until Rhodan's counter-plans were in action.

In 3585 AD his military forces, following Kelosker's plan, flew into a black hole and were cut off from this universe forever. Reevaluating his role in the cosmic scheme he joined the Terran-inspired rebellion against the Hetos. After the Hetos was defeated he gained asylum on Provcon-Fist, the new homeworld for the Larens of this galaxy who had rebelled against the Hetos.

Looking for some new purpose to his life he later joined Harno on a journey through time.

Takvorian
Centaur and Movator

Personal Data:

Background:

Takvorian was a genetic creation of a group of Takerers some 200,000 years ago. The equine portion of his body was that of a broad-breasted, high-shouldered stallion. It was slightly different from modern horses in that it had slits in the front of its chest which allowed the horse portion of the body to breathe independently of the human torso (it also has its own heart).

Where the equine body's neck and head would be was a humanoid torso with its own heart and lungs. Takvorian's humanoid torso was underdeveloped but his head was normal adult-sized with a well-developed brain. Due to an uncontrolled pre-natal exposure to the Gene-Ray Takvorian was highly intelligent, in contrast to the first generation centaurs produced by the Takerers. Only his face appeared to be unfinished looking, as it did, like that of a twelve-year old child. He did, however, grow a long beard of light blue hair. Both hair and beard were generally worn woven into little braids.

Because of his underdeveloped chest and high intelligence his Takereran "manufacturers" wanted to kill him. Ovaron, however, took a liking to the young being and secretly rescued him, raising him himself. In order to prevent Takereran geneticists from recognizing Takvorian and ordering him destroyed Ovaron created a disguise for him. This costume fit over Takvorian's humanoid torso making him look like a normal horse (at least, at a distance). An added bonus was that Ovaron equipped the costume with a micro-beamer, speaker/translator, and communicator.

Takvorian mastered the language of the Cappins and developed a hatred of any Cappin that had been involved in carrying out genetic experiments on Lemuria. This hatred seems to have been programmed into the secondary brain in Takvorian's horse body and had to be tightly controlled by his main brain.

Takvorian possessed the psionic ability to movate (i.e., control the flow of time of an object) by a factor of 50.

He, along with other members of the Mutants Corps, was absorbed into It in 3587 AD.

Ronald Tekener
the Smiler and the Player

Personal Data:

Background:

In 2406 AD Tekener became a U.S.O. specialist with a specialty in Cosmo-Psychology. He possessed a powerful and highly stable intellect with a photographic memory and an ability to react quickly and precisely in times of danger.

With long, shoulder-length hair in the Arkonide style Tekener was a self-professed gamer and daredevil. He soon widely known (and not a little feared) on many of the worlds throughout the galaxy where casinos were allowed. Perhaps because of the 'air' of danger about him he proved to be almost irresistable to the women of the galaxy.

He gained the nickname "Smiler" from the smile his face adopted when he was in dangerous situations. An unconscious trait it often appeared moments before he exploded into action.

Tekener's main hobby was the collecting of exotic weaponry. Because of his familiarity with weapons from many galactic races and their use he rarely used standard-issue U.S.O. Instead, he usually relied on the situation to provide him with the weapons that he needed.

The other member of his U.S.O. psycho-team was Specialist Sinclair Marout Kennon. In 2409 AD they discovered the planet Khaza. There Tekener discovered a Cell-Activator which he put on. Adjusting to his body's hyper-impulses the Cell-Activator stabilized his aging at the age of 36. After their visit Khaza remained unvisited by any galactics until 2326 AD.

After the breakdown of the Solar Alliance Tekener became the vice-president of the New Einstein Alliance (N.E.A.), first under Atlan then under Julian Tifflor. He was also the head of the A.I.D. During the founding of the Cosmic House Tekener was one of Rhodan's closest and most active associates. He was, for a long time, one of the House's thirty-four speakers. In 426 NGE he commanded the galactic fleet from the flagship, Tsunami, on its journey through the Frost Ruby.

During the 'dark centuries' Tekener worked with Roi Danton to maintain Phoenix, an extra-galactic Free Trader base.

He entered into a marriage contract with Jennifer Thyron in 3588 AD. When she died in 1147 NGE due to Cell-Activator failure he joined the other Activator-bearers to search for It and set matters right with the Superintelligence. As a result he received a Cell-Activator Chip in 1173 NGE. Later, he took Dao-lin-h'ay as his new life's companion. When the first expedition to the Great Void was organized Tekener chose not to participate but, instead, traveled to Hangay with Dao-lin-h'ay to help resolve the problems of the Kartans.

Along with Homer G. Adams and Boris Siankow Tekener uncovered the secret behind history of the Ennox on the planet Mystery. He took part in the Second Coma-Expedition with his spaceship, the Lepso.

Imperatrix Theta of Ariga

Personal Data:

Background

Lady Theta was born to a noble Arkonide family on Ariga, an Arkonide colony world not far from the Arkon System. Although she could be extremely feminine when she wanted she could also be tough as nails and daring (even by Terran standards).

After graduating from the her studies she was employed at the famous Orbanaschol Shipyards of the Arkon Empire. She possessed an engineering diploma in space-ship construction and contributed to the plans for the Atlantis. In spite of her youth and only four years of space-experience Lady Theta proved herself to be an incomparable spacehand and was assigned to be the Deputy Commander of the Atlantis by Atlan himself when the ship was launched.

Although a romantic relationship developed between Atlan and Lady Theta political differences eventually forced them apart. Lady Theta worked to support Atlan as the Imperator of a re-invigorated Arkon Empire but he rejected that role.

In the middle of the 13th century NGE Lady Theta became the first Imperatrix of the newly-established Crystal Empire, based on the remnants of the old Arkon Empire. After her death Atlan had no desire to succeed her so Lord Bostich was appointed the new Imperator.

Her hair was worn short and she did not possess the normal albino-pink eyes of the Arkonides but, rather possessed green eyes with slit pupils.

Mirona Thetin
Factor 1 of the Masters of the Island

Personal Data:

Background:

Officially she was only the High Tam-Advisor of the Sulvy System. In secret reality, however, she was Factor 1, the leader of the Masters of the Island, and, as such, the most powerful being in the Andromeda Galaxy. Although she appeared to be only about 30 years old she was actually more than 20,000 years old. She achieved this longevity through the intervention of a Cell-Activator anchored directly over her heart.

As Tam-Advisor she projected the appearence of a kindly and amiable woman. As Factor 1 she was utterly ruthless in pursuing her objectives as one of the Masters of the Island. She was directly responsible for the lethal suppresion of numerous planets and peoples throughout Andromeda.

During Rhodan and Atlan's campaign to expose and destroy the Masters of the Island Thetin discovered, for the first time in a very long time, that she could love someone other than herself. Unfortunately, her love for Atlan was not strong enough to overcome her need for power and that, in the end, destroyed her.

The events of Perry Rhodan #1573 - "Glance into Time" recounted the final period of Thetin's life. The Abruse, shortly before its end, forced Atlan to relive the his terrifying time with Thetin, just before her end, again and again in hopes of breaking him.

A brilliant scientist in her own right she was a specialist in archeology and ethnology.

Icho Tolot
the Haluter

Personal Data:

Background:

Tolot first came into contact with humans in 2400 AD. At the time he was relatively young for a Haluter (who often live for about 3,000 years) but he was already one of his people's most capable scientists and soldiers. He quickly adopted an affection for the short-lived humans that would make him one of their closest and most powerful non-human allies.

For reasons of age and cultural perception he often refered to humans as "my children" and even to Perry Rhodan as "my little one". As a mark of the respect his own people gave him he was refered to as "Tolotos".

In 3582 AD he found a Cell-Activator on the planet Wardhall and took it for himself. This activator had, once, belonged to Tipa Riorden who had drowned.

In 424 NGE Tolot was recruited (not willingly) as an agent of Seth-Apophis. After running amok on Terra (which, considering the strength and resistance of a Haluter in battle-frenzy, caused considerable damage) he was sent into a cosmic exile with his companion, Bruke Tosen. In his effort ot free himself from the terrible influence that controlled him he came across the Glove and, through it, travelled through the Rotating Nothing to arrive at the Frost Ruby. There, he also ran into agents of the Superintelligence. After becoming immune to mental shock he worked with a few rebels against Seth-Apophis again. After many failures he discovered the Base in 426 NGE and provided them with valuable information about the Frost Ruby, such as the manufacture of Moderator Matter of which the Anchor of the Porleyter was constructed.

In 445 NGE Tolot became a Walker of the Net and fought against the Warrior Cult of Estartu until, a year later, he left the Network and journied to M 87 Galaxy aboard his Network ship, Haluta. His purpose was to discover what had happened to the descendants of the Haluters who had journied there millenia ago and, if they still existed, whether or not they were threatened by the Warrior Cult. Along the way he discovers the Jewel of Mimoto from which he obtains the coordinates of a black hole through which the System of the Black Star-Streets can be accessed. Using this information, Tolot found himself journeying through a strange micro-cosmos. When he returned to his home universe he discovered that two hundred years had elapsed.

He tried, in vain, to find the isolated galaxy but, instead, found only legends of the death of Rhodan and the "four-armed prophet" of the Posbis. Having no other choice he began searching for Rhodan. At the Paura black hole he penetrated the Pillars of the Past where he fell into a trap that held him for five hundred years. In 1143 NGE he was found and rescued by the presumed-dead Rhodan.

After returning from the Expedition into the Great Void he returned to Halut to obtain help in the construction of a new spaceship, the Haluta II.

After surrending his Cell-Activator to It in 1169 NGE he received a Cell-Activator Chip.

Torytrae
the Ceynach Hunter

Personal Data:

Background:

One of the last few Yulcos, Torytrae existed as a brain preserved in the Tschatro-Bank. As such he enjoyed an unlimited life-span. Like other Yulcos he possessed the abilities of abstract-reconstruction, strange plan interpretation, and hyper-logical visualization. With these abilities he became a hunter for Tschatro, operating in cases where the G.O.K. has failed. As a so-called Tuurth Torytrae was invested with extraordinarily broad legal powers. He was, for instance, once assigned the task of killing Perry Rhodan's Ceynach mind which had been displaced by the Anti-It.

Fortunately, Torytrae was able to resolve the problem by less drastic means. In the process he recognized that there were greater problems to be resolved and, so, set about helping friends such as the Heltamosh. After the completion of a mission in the Caltron Galaxy Torytrae became involved in helping the inhabitants of Naupaum Hold. They had admired the originality, thoroughness, and intelligence of Rhodan's Ceynach mind. Rhodan thwarted Torytrae's plans to deliver him to Naupaum Hold and returned to the Milky Way Galaxy.

Ras Tschubai
Teleporter

Personal Data:

**
This picture is from the Perry Rhodan Trading Card Game by FanPro. Drawn by Swen Papenbrock.

Background:

History is full of great men who, for one reason or another, never receive the recognition that they should have. Ras Tschubai is one of those men. He was one of the original members of the Mutant Corps and one of the first two teleporters. Not much of Tschubai's background has been detailed but there is little question that he grew up in Africa during one of the bloodiest periods of its history. It is likely that his devotion to Rhodan and Rhodan's plans for Terra grew out of his violent experiences growing up.

A strong but quiet man, Tschubai used his teleporting abilities to aid humanity for centuries. Like his fellow teleporter, Pucky, he was often at the forefront of major military actions by the Solar Alliance. Unlike Pucky, however, he had no other psionic abilities to rely on. The main acknowledgement of his value to the Solar Alliance was receiving Cell Showers and, later, a Cell Activator. Other than that he often seems like a figure hidden behind other, more publicity-seeking figures.

He survived the Second Genesis Crisis and eventually became a founding member of the New Mutants Corps. He died of a Cell Activator malfunction when, in 1169 NGE trapped on the planet Compol with Fellmer Lloyd, he was unable to return his Cell Activator to It before It's deadline expired.

Mila Vandemar
The Structure Seer

Personal Data:

Background:

Vandemar was one of the two Mirror Born that It had reserved the last two Cell Activator Chips for. Like her sister, Nadja, she received her Cell Activator Chip in 1173 NGE at the age of 30. Mila was the sister of the twins with the ability Mirror Seeing. What this ability was, exactly, no one knew. It was discovered that Nadja’s primary abilility was stabilizing Mila. If the sisters were separated Mila would begin to feel more and more pain until, beyond about 900 m, the pain would drive Mila mad and eventually kill her. So far as was known only Voltago had the ability to stabilize the twins so that they could separate themselves for up to four minutes without suffering separation shock.

It was while separated by Voltago that some of the Mirror Seeing ability was revealed. According to Voltago, when they were separated they could "see" the 'internal', atomic and also the five-dimensional structure of the objects between them. Voltago used them to scan the Sampler-Planets and, so, locate and rescue twenty spindles concealed there. On this mission they also both entered the Bridge into Infinity for the first time.

It was said (but never confirmed) that for a long time Mila Vandemar had an affair with the Beausoleil Jospeh Broussard, Jr.

While the other relative immortals were active in building Camelot, the Vandemar twins went on a "goodwill tour" of the galaxy to try to improve the image of the Cell Activator bearers.

Geoffrey Abel Waringer
Brilliant Terran Scientist

Personal Data:

Background:

Waringer was a hyper-physicist and the first science senator (for secret development of new technology) of the Solar Alliance. On December 12, 2430 AD he married Susan Betty Rhodan. At this time Waringer was unemployed and unknown within his area of specialty, the novelty of his theories, as yet, unknown. With time, through his wife, Waringer became known to Dr. Arno Kalup (inventor of the Kalup Drive) and his genius recognized. During this time Betty Rhodan, the director of six interstellar banks, supported his work through financing and access to research facilities and labs.

Through Mory Abro-Rhodan, in her role as Overman of Plophos, Waringer was able assigned the planet Last Hope, the former base of the Plophosan dictator Iratio Hondro. Beneath the Mt. Sitting Dragon near Last Hope north pole he was able to build a research laboratory specifically designed around his interests and unorthodox methods. After the death of Dr. Kalup, Waringer was able to convince many of Kalup's researchers to join him. Together they created an improved version f the Kalup Drive, the Waringer Converter (about half the size and twice the speed). With that success Waringer and his researchers engaged in (or were contracted for) many other research projects. Among devices that his lab produced were the Dimension Drive, the Black Sphere Reactor, and the Anti-Temporal Tidal Field (ATT Field). In 2436 AD Rhodan gave Waringer the Cell Activator of the slain mutant Laury Marten. Thus, Waringer stopped aging at 33.

In 426 NGE Waringer became a Speaker and Chief Scientific Advisor of the Cosmic House. About twenty years later he made the trip into the Tarkan Universe, which was possible with the vectorless Grigoroff Drive. When Rhodan returned 700 years later with the Tarkan Association he found Waringer (now known as the Hermit of Satrang) rapidly dying of cascading cell failure, his Cell Activator having been stolen in 1143 NGE.
