Perry Rhodan is one of the greatest phenomenons in the history of Science Fiction.
The series was started on September 8th, 1961. The first story was written by Karl-Herbert Scheer. He is very famous for his excellent description of high-tech warfare. In the first ten years, he shaped the course of the series. He wrote all the key episodes. One of his best was # 300 "Alarm im Sektor Morgenrot", when he introduced Roi Danton, who appeared in the disguise of a 'free' merchant, but who actually turned out to be Perry Rhodan's son. More about the Roi Danton's fate in the current Perry Rhodan universe is revealed by Horst Hoffmann in # 1964 "A White Giant from Halut". Other famous adventures written by Karl-Herbert Scheer include # 100 "Target Star". After the jubilee issue # 500, K. H. Scheer stopped writing his own novels. It is little known that K. H. Scheer returned to the series in 1986. He wrote a number of excellent adventures in the context of TARKAN and the Cantaro invasion. The first of these novels is # 1320 "Tostan, the gambler". At the Trinity Convention in Dortmund, Robert Feldhoff and Klaus N. Frick revealed a few secrets about the Shape of Things to come. After issue #2000, Perry Rhodan will finally work more closely with mankind. At present, Perry is a rather isolated fellow. That will change. There will be two main threads of the action: One of them will be set in the past. Alaska Saedelaere will remain at a location from where he cannot be removed. The mutants will be far more important than before.
Nach Band 2000 werden wir einen Perry sehen, der wieder viel stärker an die Menschheit angebunden ist. Es wird zwei Handlungsebenen geben; eine davon spielt in der Vergangenheit. Die Mutanten werden eine starke Rolle spielen. Alaska Saedelaere wird nicht mehr aktiv in der Handlung dabei sein, weil er in Band 2000 irgendwo hinkommt, wo man ihn nicht mehr entfernen kann. Den Jubi-Band schreiben Robert und Ernst gemeinsam. Der nächste Band von Robert ist übrigens erst 1988. Den Titel von Band 2000 wollten Robert und Klaus auf der Trinity-Convention nicht verraten. Erst hatte Klaus uns eine düstere Zukunft für Gucky angekündigt; dann sagte er, das sei natürlich ein Scherz gewesen. Klaus machte viel Reklame für die Lausbiber-Abenteuer: Gucky als Kinderbuch.
